Sail Wakatobi-Belitong, biggest event in 2011

After the successful Sail Bunaken 2009 in Manado, North Sulawesi, and Sail Banda 2010 in Maluku, the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry will again organize a similar event in Southeast Sulawesi and Bangka-Belitung provinces in 2011.

Sail Wakatobi-Belitong is expected to be the biggest international marine event in 2011 in three consecutive years after Sail Bunaken in 2009 and Sail Banda in 2010. Sail Wakatobi-Belitong 2011 is scheduled to take place during the second week of August 2011 in the District of  Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi Province, and the third week of October 2011 in the District of Belitung, Bangka-Belitung Province, off the southern Sumatera Island.

To be called Sail Wakatobi-Belitong 2011, the event will again attract marine lovers from all over the world in a spirit for adventure to come and join in for sharing new experience and exploring the marine beauty of Wakatobi and Bangka-Belitung waters.

Taking the theme of “Clean the Ocean for Future Live”, to respond to the climate change which has triggered the temperature of the ocean surface to rise. Divers, tourists, and guests will have an excellent diving holiday and enjoy every moment of it to see the colorful and magnificent underwater life because the area is tremendously rich in marine heritage.
